Passa este ano meio século sobre o lançamento do mítico Pet Sounds, álbum de 1966 dos Beach Boys que, entre muitos feitos, assinalou a definitiva afirmação do estúdio como elemento fulcral na criação musical. Para assinalar o 50º aniversário do disco uma edição especial será lançada a 10 de junho.

Trata-se de um lançamento em vários suportes e formatos. Há uma caixa deluxe com 4 CD e Blu-rays, acompanhada por um livro, juntando as misturas do disco em mono, estéreo, uma gravação em alta definição, instrumentais, misturas em 5:1, outtakes, misturas alternativas e algumas gravações ao vivo ainda inéditas.

Há edições em vinil com a mistura em mono e estéreo e uma edição de 2 CD com alguns dos elementos da caixa. Para o fim do ano está anunciada uma edição comemorativa dos 50 anos do single Good Vibrations.
